Lake Frierson State Park

Arkansas is home to a number of state-managed parks and facilities where visitors can enjoy the outdoors. Lake Frierson State Park, in northeastern Arkansas near Jonesboro, is located on the eastern shore of Lake Frierson near the rolling hills of Crowley’s Ridge. In addition to the natural beauty of the surrounding wilderness, it is fast turning into one of the hottest fishing spots in Arkansas.
Surrounding area
The U.S. Soil Conservation Service constructed Lake Frierson in the 1970s. It is one of several man-made lakes managed by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The 335 acre lake is stocked with channel catfish, bream, bass and crappie, and is a rich environment for fishing enthusiasts. The state manages several tracks of land near the lake that offer visitors a wide variety of outdoor experiences within a few miles. In the spring the blooming dogwood trees enhance the natural beauty of the lake shore.
