Lake Ouachita State Park

Lake Ouachita State Park is located inside the Ouachita National Forest. The transparency of its water and the enchanting forestry are two aspects that lure thousands of visitors. This is the largest manmade lake in Arkansas and likely the prettiest you could ever photograph. You can come for the day and have a picnic at one of the shaded picnic sites. You also have the option of staying at Lake Ouachita overnight. You can pitch a tent, take advantage of luxurious lodgings or rent an RV.

Things to do

You can engage in water sports on one of the cleanest lakes in the nation. If you want to cool off, there is an area designated for swimming. You can also do something exhilarating like water skiing. You can even scuba dive and explore the home of the fish. There are affordable boat rentals for sight-seeing, a romantic ride or relaxation. Lastly, there is fishing, and you can keep every crappie, catfish and any other fish you catch.

What else can you do

You can hike on the easy Dogwood trail or on the difficult Caddo Bend trail. There are areas for picnics, or you can lay out on the grass. Lake Ouachita is also pet-friendly. Additionally, it is really close to the spa city of Hot Springs.
