Campsite amenities and activities
This park features 29 campsites equipped with water and electrical hookups, 50 amp service, restrooms, showers and dump stations. Guests also have access to picnic areas and a screened pavilion. There is a playground, basketball court and volleyball court located between the campgrounds, Picnic sites are also available, where the kids can play while the adults sit back and relax. Campers can enjoy trail walks, guided canoe and kayak adventures and various workshops, including fishing derbies and Dutch oven cooking classes. The 1.1-mile Great Blue Heron Trail is a popular attraction for both hikers and bicycle enthusiasts.
Fishing
Featuring a variety of freshwater fish, Lake Poinsett is home to schools of bass, crappie, brim and catfish. Boat rentals are available, and boat ramps are provided for easy access in and out of one of Arkansas' largest lakes, which covers a area of over 640 acres.
